Manual Handling of People Course covers the musculoskeletal system which is made up of 2 systems that work together to support and move your body for the safe moving of people and is a six hour course that covers:
- Requirements of Health and Safety
- Principles of Movement
- Rules of Lifting
- Risk Assessment
- Recording & Reporting
- Moving a person in a bed- rolling, Sitting up, Moving up, and getting a person from a bed
- Moving a person in a chair-assisted stand, Standing Transfers, Emergency Movement
- Controlling a Fall, Raising from the Floor and Using a Slide Board.
- Hoists will also be discussed
